The first Sunday of each month is McMillan Family Fun Night. After church all the kids come over for dinner and then we try to have a spiritual lesson and then games and, of course, more food. Tonight was extra special. After a great dinner of Hawaiian Haystacks, cooked by me, we all headed down to the temple grounds. At the visitor center they have an incredible display and video called "Reflections of Christ". It's a collection of photographs that depict scenes from the life of Christ. They are so beautiful and inspiring. The video tells the background of how many of the photos were inspired and set up. They really go hand in hand and compliment each other. You can see one without seeing the other but it's so much better to see them together. The photo at the top is actually my favorite. If you look real close at His hand you can see the nail print. This whole presentation really has strengthened my testimony of Christ. It makes it all seem so much more personal and real to me. There is a photo showing Christ in the Garden. The way he is looking during His suffering makes me appreciate the atonement in a very real way. He suffered and died for me. What am I doing in my life to show my gratitude?!
After that we came
back home and all played Uno. We sure do play a wicked game of Uno! Kip and David made up extra cards so that you have to draw 10. Ben got me with that one and Brein got David with it once too. It was fun..jpg)
After that we just hung out. Ben even got friendly with "the rat". He's not much for small dogs. I know he really loves my sweet Brinkley.
This would be the part where we have more food. Always plenty to eat at our house so you better not go home hungry or it's your own fault!

Lindsay sat down at the piano and began playing a piece called "The Olive Tree" that she had never seen before. She has such a gift with the piano!!! Even though she hadn't played it before it sounded incredible. I could sit and listen to her play all day. When she was young she had to practice the piano before school. Our home was always filled with beautiful music. If she got in trouble her punishment was that she couldn't play the piano. A little back words from most kids. I miss listening to her play the piano so when she does it's a real treat.

I'm so grateful for my little family. I look forward to Family Fun Night each month because it just seems like it gets harder and harder to all get together. Life is so busy. There's nothing I love more than to be surrounded by my family and hear their laughter. It can be crazy and chaotic but it is music to my ears!

That’s so neat that you still get together! The 1st Sunday of each month is dinner at mom’s house. Never any questions. It’s fun to be close to family. Good job! Oh. I'm linking to your blog.
So So Fun, I want to go see those pictures again. I wish they were for sale so I could buy them.
Oh... I love the song "olive tree", definetly one of my favs. Sounds like a great family night. Hugs to Kip. (and a puppy kiss for Brinkley)

Chelsea & Jody,
While we were standing in line to go see the photo's at the visitors center last night, Cortney and Tanner walked in so they went with us to see the photos. That was fun! I think Cortney looks so happy.
