Oh Brother!!!

Tomorrow is my brother, Chet's, birthday. In fact, everyone is together tonight having dinner to celebrate. I wish I could be there. Not just because they're at Boston's (yum, yum!) but because it would be great to let him know in person how much I love him and how grateful I am that he's my brother. It isn't always easy for siblings to get along and it's taken us some time to come to appreciate and accept each other and our differences. Chet is a wonderful guy. He's about the best mailman ever!
He has the greatest stories about his mail route. He cracks us up when he gets talking about his job. He's very kind and concerned about the people on his route, too. They in turn love him. Chet has been so good to my dad since our mom passed away a year ago. He calls dad every single day on his lunch break. He takes dad out for breakfast and comes over all the time to help out with things around the house. In fact, one time, in the fall before the snow hit, we were eating breakfast at dad's house and dad kept saying Chet was supposed to come over. We finished eating and I looked outside and Chet was in the yard clearing the flower beds and preparing them for winter. Turns out he'd been out there for over an hour working and none of us knew it. That's just how he is. He's a wonderful grandfather to his 4 grandkids. He loves his 2 dogs and working in his garden, which seems strange to me since he hated doing yard work as a kid, but he does a beautiful job with his yard and grows some amazing flowers.
Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHET!!!
