FOLLOW THE PROPHET!

Today at church I got to be a substitute in our ward nursery. I love being able to help out in there. The kids are so cute and so funny. Well, today I had to give the little lesson. It's the longest 10 minutes ever trying to keep them listening to the lesson and keep them entertained. The lesson was on following the prophet. The activity I planned (to take up lots of time) was to have each kid take a turn holding a picture of President Monson and march around the room with all the other kids following them singing: "Follow the Prophet, Follow the Prophet He Knows the Way!" Some of them got it and enjoyed it and some of them not so much.
So, this afternoon, our doorbell rang. I thought it was our home teachers 'cuz they were supposed to show up at any time. Instead it was a dad of one of the nursery kids. He had yummy treats for our family and he wanted to let me know that his daughter, Lauren, had been marching around the house all afternoon singing "Follow the Prophet". It made my heart so happy!!! Even when they are so tiny and you think they aren't getting it - they do!!! It makes a difference!
I love our prophet, President Monson. I am so excited for General Conference and hearing what the Lord would have him teach us. How we NEED his direction right now! I'm grateful that the Lord has provided us with such a wise man to follow and learn from!

Ahhh! That's so cute! We didn't have church yesterday due to the temple dedication.

That is one of William's favorite songs right now! It's so nice to know you had a positive influence on the kids, huh? I miss being in the nursery (sometimes, hee, hee!)
Especially right now because Super Saturday is coming up...again.

when my 21 year old was 3 and in preschool (we lived in UT) he rode the bus and he sang over and over follow the prophet follow the prophet (that is all he knew of the song) poor bus driver. But she said she loved it. I swear 3 to 6 year olds should be going to college, they are so smart and learn everything we teach them.
