By small and simple things . . .

I was very inspired by the talk that our stake president gave in Sacrament Meeting today. He decided instead of having a big stake theme our stake would focus on doing 3 small and simple things: Daily scripture study, daily prayer and daily service. He said that having these 3 constants in our lives would help us to become a stronger people ready to face the challenges in the days ahead. One thing he said that really made sense to me was that in the past when a ward or stake has a big goal to, say, read the Book of Mormon, there seems to be a "high" that comes with the accomplishment and then a sort of "let down" following the acheivement of that goal. We absolutely need to set goals in our lives but we also need these 3 daily powers in our lives to keep us moving forward and to build a strong foundation in our lives. I love this! I just wish I was better at doing it. I know that our President Ostler is inspired to tell us these things. I truly want to be obedient!

We had a very good Sunday as well. Our wards are getting split so everyone is nervous about what their new ward they will be in so everyone stood and bore their testimony. Very strong spirit.

We had a wonderful Stake Enrichment meeting yesterday with choices of 3 classes to attend...wish I could have gone to all of them, but the ones I did go to were so good. One lady presented about Joy in the journey, even with adversity. She broke her hip skiing on Valentine's Day and still came to present. Her 15 year old son was electrocuted a couple of years ago when he climbed an electrical tower up on the mountain. She was so positive...it was wonderful!

I just love Pres. Ostler. We had Ward conference, he gave the same talk. Such great advice, and I love feeling the spirit in my life as I strive to become more obedient!

It's so interesting that you would blog about this. Our stake Relief Society had a Enrichment day and one of the classes was on doing that very thing and it's a 100 day challenge. It goes until June 14th but I think it's a great challenge for every day of our lives. (Hum,I wonder if they all got the idea from the same place)

Well isn't that interesting. We had the same challenge put before us by our stake relief society and then the stake president came to our RS meeting on Sunday and said he hoped we would all try to accomplish that goal.
