Okay, so this is how I have been living my life for the past few months:No, seriously! It's been bad. I like to use the excuse that my health hasn't been great but there just comes a point when you have to own up to your faults. That time for me has come and with a lot of very helpful medication and some major positive thinking and a few New Years goals I've finally come around to getting my life and my house in order.

I'm very much a "list" person.

Much to Brad's dismay, I've had a pretty hefty list going since before Christmas. The poor boy had 2 weeks off for Christmas but he was so busy I sure he wished he was at work! I had him painting Brein's old bedroom from that lovely shade of bubblegum pink from her teenage years to the calming taupe that is throughout the rest of our house. Ahhhh!
Anyway, I finally got a great nights sleep last night and can I just tell you I woke up with major energy!

Here's what Brad and I accomplished today:

I painted a dresser that will go in the newly decorated bedroom. All the furniture is brown and the bedding is pinks and browns. Then I painted a little desk that belonged to Brad as a child. I've had it hid away in the closet wondering what to do with it until today. I painted it a soft green color and put new drawer pulls on it and I love it. It goes in the other guest room. Then, in that same room I organized that closet. I LOVE organizing! There is just something about looking at something I've just organized that makes me feel sooo good! Then it was off to target to buy a new curtain rod, a bath mat, the drawer pulls for the desk and a few other items.

When I got home the yard was looking quite fabulous! Not because Brad or I had been working on it all day. Nope, thats what Abraham is for. I think hiring out yard care is the best thing ever 'cuz It gets done!! Abraham does all the work and hauls all the stuff away and we get a nice looking yard. Boom, Done!

Brad hadn't just been lying around all day! He finished painted the trim in the upstairs bathroom and then he installed the new pool motor since the old one gave out during the week. He's such a handy man and I can't begin to image the amount of money he's saved us in repairs because he's so good at fixing things!

Yep, it was a BIG day. But, the reason that we are so busy is because my in-laws are coming in just over a week. Then after that my dad is coming for a visit and bringing his friend Joyce.

My kids have always asked me if we were having company because the house is clean. That's how we roll around here. Having company is a great motivator to getting the housework and yard work done!

So now, here it is after 6 pm and Brad and I are both exhausted! But we have a great sense of accomplishment. There's still much to be done but today was a great day and I will totally enjoy my "day of rest" tomorrow.
