POOR BREIN!

Well, she did it! Brein got her wisdom teeth out on Wednesday. I knew when we were setting the appointment and she was crying that it might be a painful experience in more ways than one. She proved me right. I feel like I should win the "Worst Mom" award for not taking her to the oral surgeon and having her put completely out but she said she would do it at the dentist office and be fine. I really shouldn't have believed her!!!
She just got all numbed up for the procedure-
not a happy girl
After it's all over with - just a bit out of it!
I was proud of her though for facing one of her worst fears and following through with it. She did great! The dentist gave her some pills to ease her anxiety and fears before the procedure and she kept telling me that they weren't working and she wanted to take more. Her speech was slurred and she was talking about things that didn't exactly make sense but she couldn't tell a difference. She was really afraid that her friends were going to find out where her dentist was and show up at the office (they tried). One of them, Kirch, met us at the house when we got home. I think it actually helped Brein take her mind off the pain and trauma that she had just been through and was good for her. Brein has great freinds!

~Sad girl~

Kinda hard to smile when you're all numb!

That afternoon and evening was pretty rough. She took some pain meds and ended up throwing it up along with anything that she had eaten (which wasn't much). She couldn't keep anything down all night long.

Trying to sleep it off.She woke me up during the night and I gave her more pain meds and she ate some pudding and by morning she was throwing up again. I called the dentist and they changed her pain meds but it didn't seem to help. We decided just to try simple Ibuprofen and see how that worked.

Here she is a little more bright eyed. All the pain meds worn off and feeling a little more clear headed but obviously a little bit swollen - especially on the left side which was strange because the left side had only one wisdom tooth and the right side had two.

Anyway, today is Saturday and she actually went to school last night and is working today and has a date tonight. I'm sure she will crash tomorrow after church! She's a good girl and I'm really glad that this is all behind her (and me!)

Oh poor girl. I feel for her! I had mine pulled 3 years ago. I can't imagine just doing it at the dentist though. Ouch. Glad she's doing ok. Way to go!

OUCH!!! Poor Brein!!! I hope you feel better! This time last year I got 3 of my wisdom teeth removed. The next several days were just a whirl of pain, sleep, and soft foods. Good luck!

I'm glad you're feeling better now, Brein...all I wanted to do was sleep after I had mine out and my mom kept trying to wake me up.
